Can I use Jitti for navigation?
Can I use Jitti for navigation? Jitti shows where how is (or how usually is) the traffic flow. Knowing this, the choice of the route depends on the driver. Is it possible to access the traffic flow information on a navigation device? We are building relationships with the navigation system manufacturers, however as we see, drivers do not necessary switch the navigation device on, when they are in town or driving known rotes, but they are still interested in the actual traffic flow information. For this smartphones, anyway in hand, are perfect. How much does Jitti use the battery of the phone? GPS and data connection result certain additional load. According to the experience, who is using the phone in the car, anyway has a charger in the vehicle, so charging for the additional consumption does not cause any problem. Where can Jitti be used? Jitti provides traffic flow data on the area of Hungary. Why are certain streets drawn with one, some with two lines? In case of streets with two driving directions, the traffic may be jammed in one, and fluent in the other direction. So we can differentiate this way. Why does Jitti show red, traffic jam situation, when only one traffic light holds the traffic? Most probably the cars are really held up at the traffic light, so the speed is slower in fact. What if traffic is held up only in one, ie. right turning lane, but straight traffic is fluent? Jitti does not separate lanes due to the accuracy of the digital map and the GPS signal, so at this kind of locations, average speed is provided. How much does data connection cost? It may be cheaper or expensive. It is expensive, if the user has no data connection subscription yet. Service providers still allow data communication, but the user has to pay higher price for it. Before starting the use of Jitti, we propose to subscribe for at least 100 MB data transmission per month, which may be around 2000 HUF depending on the fees on the different providers. What is Jitti for, if it does not navigate unlike the navigation devices? Basic navigation devices plan and propose routes, but have no actual traffic flow data. TMC units, which may be built in the devices, still cannot provide actual traffic flow information due to the nature of the TMC system. How prompt are the speed data of Jitti? Based on technical limitations of the network and also on privacy considerations, Jitti is able to publish almost prompt speed data and traffic environment information with the delay of approximately 2-3 minutes. To achieve this, user community provided information upload is necessary as well, of course. How do I upload or receive the traffic situation of my route? Data transmission is fully automatic, no need to submit any information by human involvement, calling traffic centers on the phone or push buttons, only to start the Jiiti application on the smartphone. Does the system store if I exceed the speed limit? The system stores speed and position data, but does not store or use, that who these data belong to, or who drove faster than allowed by any chance, no need to fear from that. (At the same time we encourage the members or the user community to fully comply with the traffic rules.) Does it mean that it is continuously documented where I am going? No. The system receives speed and position data, stores and uses for the calculations, but it does not utilize that, who these data belong to, so it does not follow where a certain user is moving. We want to create a picture on the traffic situation, so Jitti
Why is that when scrolling the map, street names sometimes appear or disappear? If more segments of a street are visible on the map, we draw the name of the street on only one segment. If a segment is moving out of the map, the name of the street will be written on another segment in the next drawing cycle.
